Canon Pixma TS6100 Driver Download
Canon Pixma TS6100 Printer Reviews– The Canon Pixma TS6100 Wireless Inkjet All-in-One (149.99 USD) replaces the Pixma TS6020 as a low-volume photo-centric all-in-one (AIO) printer for use in family and home office networks. Apart from Bluetooth and a few other small optimizations, the TS6100 is not much different from its predecessor. It looks and prints the same, and at the same speeds, for the same list price, which is about 50 dollars less than the Editors’ Choice Canon Pixma TS9120. Like most consumer photo printers in this price range, the TS6100 is slow and has no automatic document feeder (ADF). However, it prints – especially photos – a sensible cheaper alternative to the more expensive and expensive Canon TS9120.
Small and Lightweight on Features
One of the main differences between the TS6100 and its parent Canon TS9120 sibling is that it uses only five inks, compared to the six inks of the higher-quality AIO. In addition to the four standard cyan, magenta, yellow, and black inks (CMYK), the TS6100 also uses a pigment-black ink to produce deeper black coloration in text and graphics; In addition to the pigment-black ink, the Canon TS9120 has a photo blue ink to increase detail and expand the color range, according to Canon. Epson also offers consumer-ready photo AIOs with more than the traditional four CMYK inks.
You can configure the TS6100 and perform walkup tasks such as printing from the cloud and making copies from the 3-inch touchscreen LCD and a handful of surrounding buttons consisting of Power, Home, Back, Start (black copies), Start (color copies), and Stop ( cancel). The size of the touchscreen is another way in which the TS6100 differs from its parent siblings; For example, the TS9120 has a 5-inch touch display. Of the four Models in the TS series, the TS6100 is the only one that does not support SD memory cards. In addition, Canon does not publish the maximum monthly customs cycle or the recommended monthly print volume ratings for one of its consumer printers.
Connecting and Software
While the TS6100 does not support SD memory cards, it supports several other standard and mobile connectivity options, starting with Wi-Fi and connecting to a single PC via USB, making a typical configuration for an AIO class on consumer level in this price range. In comparison, the Epson XP-640 also supports Wi-Fi Direct for peer-to-peer connections to the printer without it or your mobile device being connected to a network. The XP-640 also supports SD cards and USB sticks.
Other types of mobile device connections for the TS6100 include: Google Cloud Print, Mopria and AirPrint, as well as Canon’s own Wireless PictBridge for printing multiple Canon digital cameras, Canon Print and Pixma Cloud Link. This time, Canon also included Bluetooth 4.0, which is a bit unusual for desktop printers with Wi-Fi. Most printer manufacturers include Wi-Fi Direct or Near-Field Communication (NFC) or both. While Bluetooth allows most compatible smartphones and tablets to connect to the printer, Wi-Fi Direct has a much wider range and throughput rate.
Because it is a consumer-quality photo printer, the TS6100’s software package is designed to scan and print photos and graphics. In addition to the drivers, the CD includes: Scan Utility My Printer, Network Tool, My Image Garden and Quick Menu. My printer is a diagnostic, maintenance, and repair utility, and the network tool allows you to view and change the AIO’s network settings. My Image Garden is a collection of utilities, such as special effects, correction filters, and extension filters. Full HD Movie Prints lets you isolate and print images from video recordings using specific Canon digital cameras. and Creative Park Premium is an online collection of document templates (for creating calendars, greeting cards, etc.). Quick Menu, a collection of always visible icons, provides quick access to My Image Garden and the other features listed here.
How slow can you go
These small consumer photo printers simply don’t print as fast as their business-oriented counterparts. (Canon’s own Maxify MB2120 Wireless Home Office Inkjet Printer, for example, is rated 9 ppm or ppm, faster than the TS6100’s 15ppm.) That is, when printing our easy-formatted 12-page Microsoft Word document, I clocked the TS6100 at 12.9ppm, which is very similar to all the other Pixmas mentioned above; even the Canon TR8520 scored 12.8ppm on this part of our tests. The Epson XP-640, rated at 13ppm, managed just 2.5ppm, and HP’s Envy Photo 7855 All-in-One, a recently released four-ink photo AIO that was swirled at 12.7ppm. (I tested over USB from our standard testbed PC with Intel Core i5 running Windows 10 Professional.)
When I combined the results of the above 12-page Word text document with those from printing our colorful PDF, Excel, and PowerPoint documents with graphics and photos, the tthe6100’s print speed came in at 17.7 ppm. Again, these results have either tied the other pixmas we’ve talked about, or have landed on one side or the other by a tenth of a ppm or so.
The TS6100 has swirled out our two colorful and detailed 4-by-6-inch snapshots with an average of 20 seconds or about 15 seconds faster than the Canon TR8520 and 12 seconds faster than the Canon TS9120. It also beat HP’s Envy Photo 7855 by 20 seconds.
You Get What You Wait For
Like his siblings, the performance of the TS6100 is excellent, especially photography. The text is dark, well shaped and well delineated to what I could see without magnification, which makes it more than suitable for most family and home documents. Even some of the less common decorative fonts we tested looked better than what we saw from competing models.
The graphics were also mostly better than average, with fixed fills and backgrounds and smooth-flowing gradients. Hairlines (1 point and less) also looked good. However, I saw the same bandwidth in the solid black background of an Excel line chart that I saw with the CANon TR8520 and TS9120. It wasn’t horrible looking, but it was definitely conspicuous to the point that I would shy away from using large, solid black fillings in my handouts; but even this AIO is not really robust enough for this type of document. Otherwise, the output of the TS6100 maintains the legacy of the Pixma photo printer.
A lot to choose from
The bottom line in the entry- and mid-range photo printer market is that you have a lot to choose from. If first-class print quality, especially photos, is your main concern, choosing one of the Canon TS series Pixmas should meet your needs. Yes, because of its photo blue ink, the Editors’ Choice Canon Pixma TS9120 allows for better quality on certain types of photos; If the best possible image quality is what you’re looking for, you should jump for it.
If decent photos at lower cost per print are more of a problem, HP’s Envy Photo 7855 with its optional Instant Ink subscription program will save you a lot of time. However, if you can do without a storage drive reader and less advanced features to print excellent photos and print, copy and/or scan the occasional document from a home office, the Canon Pixma TS6100 is a good choice.
