Canon PIXMA iP100 Drivers Download– Canon continues its line of portable Pixma inkjet printers with the iP100, an upgrade to iP90v from last year. This time, Canon increased the number of inkjets and doubled the maximum resolution to 4,800×1,200 dpi. As a result, we have seen significant improvements in both print speed and quality that make the iP100 notebook competitive with some full-size printers. For $ 250, you do not get some of the features of the Hewlett-Packard mobile companion, such as a media card reader or optional Wi-Fi connectivity. Even so, we prefer this Canon for its lower profile, fast print speeds, an updated cartridge set, and its overall versatility.
The body features a matte silver finish with shiny black side panels and paper handling trays that extend out of the device. Fortunately, the inbox contains 50 sheets of paper, a 20-page skip of the iP90v. The right side of the printer houses an infrared port for connecting IrMC 1.1 compatible mobile phones, a USB 2.0 port, and a PictBridge port for direct printing from compatible digital cameras. For an extra $ 50, Canon will launch the BU-30, a Bluetooth adapter that plugs into the USB port, allowing you to print wirelessly from a laptop or mobile device. Unfortunately, the iP100 does not have the built-in card reader included with the HP H470; users are required to print via USB or through the PictBridge port. There is also no Wi-Fi adapter currently available for the iP100, so if these two features are absolutely imperative, the HP Deskjet 460c might be a better choice.
At 2.4 inches tall, 12.7 inches wide, and 7.2 inches deep, the iP100 is actually a bit bigger and heavier than last year’s model but still retains a smaller profile than the competitor the HP Officejet H470. From the point of view of portability, the iP100 is easily transportable but would have been great if Canon included a carrying case to protect the unit in transit.
While the iP100 maintains the same physical profile as the predecessor, the internal cartridge system has been completely renovated. First, the iP100 increases the number of total nozzles from 1,088 to 1,856. Compare that with the 1,072 nozzles inside the H470 and you’ll see why Canon has more than one complete model ahead of HP in this competitive space. The iP100 uses Canon’s newest ChromoLife color inks; Each cartridge costs approximately $ 17 and, according to reports, produces 249 pages. Like iP90v and iP90, cost-effective users can stretch the life cycles of their cartridges by using two options built into the controller: Save black ink or Use composite mode. Black ink recording reduces the amount of black ink used in text and grayscale graphics, while Compound Use mode produces a pseudo black from the remaining color spectrum once the black ink runs out.
