This is different from other printers with six or eight inks, using a photo, or light, inks among primary black and gray inks, and even extras. The drop size of the ink is 2 picolitres reasonable using Canon’s FINE print head.

The printer offers a USB 2.0 connection to your computer, while a secondary USB port on the front of the unit allows you to connect cameras to Canon DirectPrint, with PictBridge capability.

Using the printer is quite simple and printing is fast. Canon has always used many more nozzles in its print heads than its competitors and has consistently outperformed its rivals in sprints. Unfortunately, this printer does not exceed print quality. First, blacks are very weak: even the densest black looks darker gray. This leads to images that have no contrast and bite, which is not helped by a poor set of color interpretations in some areas, especially the blues and some greens and yellows. Green is also a prevalent mold in print, especially in areas of shade and even skin tones, which is never an attractive cast. This certainly does not help the black and white images. So if you are considering this printer, consider creating profiles as well.
