Available in black or white, it has different model codes in the UK, the TS6350 and TS6351, respectively. Characteristic of Canon 5-ink printers over the years, it is designed to be equally adept at printing documents and photos, making it an ideal device for a busy household whether you are working from home and homeschooling tools created for the kids or if you want to take high-quality photos up to A4 / 8.5 x 11-inch size.

This printer offers a wide range of functions combined with a space-saving design. As with the vast majority of modern home printers, it has a Contact Image Sensor (CIS) color scanner built into the lid, which has a maximum resolution of 1200x2400dpi and can hold documents up to A4 / 8.5x11in.
It can be driven by built-in physical push-button controls clustered around a small 1.44-inch OLED screen, allowing for self-photocopying and a range of instant adjustments to settings. However, the printer lacks an ADF (Auto Document Feeder) for multi-page scanning or copying, a direct fax connection, or a memory card slot, which would have been useful for printing photos directly from memory cards. Printing directly on white CDs, DVDs, and Blu-ray discs is also no way.
While a small OLED screen and a series of push buttons work fairly well, a larger color touchscreen would have made for a more intuitive and streamlined interface, as seen in the more expensive PIXMA 8350/8320/8360 with six ink colors.
On the plus side, this cheaper printer has a nice LED status bar, which lights up in a left-to-right motion to indicate that printing is in progress. It also has a QR code button that works with the OLED screen to connect to the internet using a mobile phone or another smart device.
After the printer is removed from the box, the initial setup only takes about 15 minutes, including removing all packing parts, installing all five cartridges, and performing the automatic print head alignment procedure.
There are two paper feeders: an integrated cassette that slides into the bottom of the printer at the front and an upright paper feeder at the back. The setup works for filling the lower cassette with A4 / Letter-sized plain paper and using the rear feeder for sheets of photo paper or other creative project-based media of various sizes.
The build quality is up to the generally high standards of Canon printers. The machine feels robust and solid without being overly bulky or heavy. Even more disappointing is that the standard ink cartridges are also quite small in capacity.
The black pigment cartridge holds 11.2ml of ink, and all dye-based cartridges hold 5.6ml each. Optional XL cartridges contain 18.5 / 8.3 ml and XXL cartridges for 25.7 / 11.7 ml, respectively, but are, of course, more expensive to purchase. A complete set of standard, XL, and XXL cartridges will cost you around $ 63, $ 100, and $ 125, respectively.
Performance
Print speeds are impressively fast. For printing documents, you can expect around 15 ppm (pages per minute) for black and white and ten ppm for color. Automatic two-sided printing is also available to produce two-sided copies that are flipped on the long or short edge of the paper.
In our tests, 6×4-inch photo output with optional quality settings took just 19 seconds (normal) or 43 seconds (high). For borderless A4 photo prints, the normal and high-quality modes resulted in a print time of 51 seconds and 1 minute 57 seconds, respectively.
Since photo printing is not cheap, the quality of the output is, of course, more important than the time it takes to generate the print.
